Announced today, Savvy Navvy was recognised as a company ‘moving the needle’ for boating and marine technology enthusiasts around the world through continuous innovation. The marine technology company was selected as a winner from thousands of nominations across the globe.
“Winning this award means a lot to us, but what it really reflects is the problem we've been solving since day one. Boating should be for everyone, not just those who’ve spent years learning to read charts and tides. Savvy Navvy makes that possible, giving people the confidence to get out on the water, explore further, and do it safely. To be recognised for that, by an organisation that spans the whole outdoor and sports world, is genuinely exciting,” said Alex Juhola, Chief Marketing Officer at Savvy Navvy.
The Independent Innovation Awards organisation has run recognition programmes for eight years across categories including beauty, baby care, pet care, and outdoor and sports.
Savvy Navvy, often referred to as ‘Google Maps for boats’, has had over three million downloads globally. The revolutionary Savvy Navvy app solves vital navigation issues for boaters, kayakers, paddleboarders and jet-skiers. Unlike any other navigation solution, Savvy Navvy provides smart routing – giving users the optimal route and dynamic ETAs based on real-time data: departure time, chart information, weather conditions, tide, waves, boat specifications and local regulations.
The Outdoor Innovation award comes the same month as Savvy Navvy launched its new waves feature. This is the ninth global award for Savvy Navvy, who last year received recognition for its Savvy Integrated product and global distributor programme.
