Your boat's dash just got an upgrade.
Savvy Navvy is the first marine navigation app you can run on any CarPlay-ready display, and we’ve partnered with Crest Marine, who are building CarPlay into their new range of Crest Marine and Balise Pontoons boats.
CarPlay changed the face of car navigation over a decade ago; now, Savvy Navvy and Crest are together, bringing those same changes to marine navigation. Savvy Navvy for CarPlay is live worldwide, and it works on any compatible display.
Plan your day at home, step aboard, and it's already at the helm.
What you get on your helm display
Everything sits on the same screen as your music and your calls, so there's no second display to buy and nothing new to learn.
- Savvy Charts™ in day, night or satellite view
- 2D and 3D chart views
- Smart routing: plot a route at the helm, or plan it at home and watch it appear on the display when you step aboard
- Search for places: marinas, harbours, anchorages
- Your saved markers, ready to select
- Nav mode showing live ETA, speed, remaining time and distance, next manoeuvre and current position
- Nearby boat traffic, which you can toggle on and off
- Live location sharing, see friends on the chart
- Bathymetry
Plan at home, navigate at the helm
Plan a route in Savvy Navvy on your phone the night before, check the weather window, wind and tide, drop your waypoints, save the marina or anchorage you're aiming for, and it's all waiting on the helm display when you hop on the boat and connect. Nothing to re-enter, nothing to sync manually.
It works the other way too. Change your mind on the water, plot a fresh route from the helm, and it's in your app.
Available to every boater
You don't need a new boat to use it. Savvy Navvy works with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, is available worldwide, and if you've got a compatible display at the helm, a marine head unit, or even just the screen in your car on the drive to the marina, it'll work.

Devices, plans and offline charts
- Devices: phones and tablets, iOS and Android. Tablets need built-in GPS.
- Connection: wired or wireless, depending on your device and display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both supported.
- The app does the work: you'll need Savvy Navvy installed on your phone or tablet for it to run on your display.
- Offline: exactly as it works in the app. Charts you’ve downloaded are available offline on the helm too.
- Subscription: included with Premium and Premium+ in the US, and the latest Elite subscription plan everywhere else. Crest and Balise owners get Savvy Navvy for free on their included plan.

Crest and Balise: the first boat brands to build it in
Thanks to a new partnership between MasterCraft Boat Holdings and Savvy Navvy, Crest and Balise are the first boat brands to offer Savvy Navvy for CarPlay at the helm.
Crest Marine has built pontoons in Owosso, Michigan since 1957. In 2024, the company launched Balise as its luxury pontoon brand, drawing on more than 120 years of combined boatbuilding experience across the Crest Marine and MasterCraft teams.
Crest dealers saw Savvy Navvy for CarPlay first, with on-water demos on Lake Lansing at the annual Crest Marine dealer event. It arrives factory-fitted on 2027 Crest and Balise models, built in, not bolted on afterwards.
"Boaters have been asking for this for years," says Jelte Liebrand, founder and CEO of Savvy Navvy. "Plan your trip on the couch, step aboard, and it's already at the helm. No complicated ways to synchronise things; it just works. It runs on any compatible display, and I'm thrilled to see Crest and Balise put it on the helm of their boaters."
Savvy Navvy Premium for Crest and Balise customers
Crest and Balise customers get Savvy Navvy Premium free with a new 2027 pontoon: one month on Crest, a full year on Balise.
Interested in a partnership?
From CarPlay to custom Savvy Integrated solutions, we work with boatbuilders and OEMs to build navigation that fits the boat. We love a challenge, so if you'd like navigation software built around your boat rather than building your boat around hardware, we'd love a conversation.

Frequently asked questions
Does Savvy Navvy work with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto?
Yes, both. Savvy Navvy is the first marine navigation app to run on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto displays, and it's available worldwide. You'll need Savvy Navvy installed on your phone or tablet, plus a compatible display.
Do I need a Crest or Balise boat to use Savvy Navvy at the helm?
No. Savvy Navvy for CarPlay works on any compatible display, including aftermarket marine head units. Crest and Balise are the first boat brands to fit it as standard, on 2027 models.
Which Savvy Navvy plan includes CarPlay?
CarPlay is included with Savvy Navvy’s Premium and Premium Plus plans in the US, and with Elite in all other regions. Crest and Balise owners get access through the plan included with their boat. Crest owners receive 1 month Premium and Balise Owners receive 12 months of Premium.
Does Savvy Navvy work offline at the helm?
Yes. Any charts you've downloaded in the Savvy Navvy app are available offline on your helm display, exactly as they are in the app, which is useful for remote lakes with limited or no mobile signal.
Can I plan a route at home and use it on the boat?
Yes. Routes, waypoints, saved markers and home ports all carry across. Plan on your phone the night before, and everything is waiting on the helm display when you connect. It works in reverse too, so a route you plot at the helm appears back in your app.
What can I see on the helm display?
Savvy Charts™ in day, night, or satellite view, 2D and 3D charts, smart routing, nav mode with live ETA and distance, nearby boat traffic, shallow zones and sandbars, your saved markers and home ports, and your friends and family sharing their live location.
